Why karakter invest kameleon ?

The Directors of Karakter Invest together have more than 75 years of experience in financial markets. This means they belong to a select group of independent entrepreneurs who advise individual stocks, bonds, real estate, mutual funds, ETF, etc. At the same time, they always invested actively with their capital.

Our name and Logo refer to two timeless rules for investing.

First, we only invest in companies with sufficient "Character" to pay us back. To check this, we have to know and understand these companies very well. An investment with "Character" is a strong balance sheet with low debt that we can buy at a low price. In that way, we can eliminate the risk of loss of capital.

Second, there are good and bad investments, but agreements (on paper) between creditor and debtor will always exist. It is crucial to have the proper understanding at the right time. A shareholder might lose his entire investment in case of bankruptcy, while a (protected) bondholder in the same default might lose nothing. Another example: depending on market circumstances, Karakter Invest will choose sovereign bonds or stocks. The founders of Karakter Invest wish to remember those two golden investment rules in all cases. So, during its investment process, Karakter Invest will never be led by greed or fear. Investment is a marathon, not a sprint.
